A browser a child can use
Sprout looks like a web browser, with tabs, an address bar, bookmarks, and a start page with a search box and shelves. Every link resolves inside the library or through an allowlisted reader, so a child who clicks around still ends up on a reading.

Reading tools
- Shelves by age and grade band, from ages 4 to 6 through grade 9 and up, plus topic shelves.
- Highlighting, a word list with definitions, and bookmarks.
- Controls for theme, typeface, text size, and line spacing.
- Read-aloud for any reading.
- A tutor mode for the adult running the session.

The library holds readings from many publishers under their own licenses. This page describes the reading room and its tools, not the library's contents.
